In today’s episode, Ted and Barb introduce us to Taner Cetinkaya who is an experienced Health and Safety Professional with 20 years of international experience on large scale building infrastructure, oil and gas and pipeline projects. He has spent the last 12 years in the Gulf working on top class oil and gas refinery and airport construction projects. He is currently working as Head of Health and Safety at AW Rostamani Group in the United Arab Emirates.
Taner shares some of his experience being in the health and safety profession. He gave us a background of how he started and the things he does now. In the conversation, Taner touched some important topics to remember when you’re working in this profession. He reiterated the importance of continuous learning especially now that everything is evolving. He also talked about the importance of this profession and how making sure that the employees get home to their families is one of the main goals every day. Taner also mentioned how essential it is to build trust and relationship with employees to ensure that they know their value in the company. Positive reinforcement is one of his major tactics when approaching people in his work.
