Episode 56
Actively Caring for People
This is Part 2 of Barb and Ted’s interview with Dr. Scott Geller Ph.D. He is a Distinguished Professor completing 52 years as a teacher and researcher at the Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech. He is also the Director of the Center for Applied Behavior Systems.
This episode is about applying active caring to the workplace, schools and even the police force. He and his daughter co-founded GellarAC4P Inc to spread the mindset of actively caring for people and launched a bracelet campaign. He discusses why STEP is important. Ted, Barb and Scott proceed to talk about social media and how to use it for positivity rather than spreading hate. The actively caring mindset connects directly to workplace safety in that it motivates people to think about wearing safety gear or reducing at-risk falls. Actively caring can be applied in all areas of life.
