The Need for Effective Communication in Safety with Ali Hamza
On this episode, Ted and Barb welcome Ali Hamza. Ali Hamza is a Health and Safety professional from Dubai United Arab Emirates. He started his career as a Security Officer, then realized he had a passion for Environmental Health and Safety. Ali has 5 years of experience in Health and Safety in the manufacturing industry and is currently working as Lead EHS in the packaging and containers industry. He is a certified Safety professional from the International Associate of Safety professionals, and Nebosh Certified, IOSH Certified, Certified COSHH Assessor, with an academic bachelor's degree in mass communication.
As the first international guest on the podcast, Ali shares about the EHS profession in the United Arab Emirates. He talks about difficulties the EHS professionals face among workers from more than 100 nationalities. According to Ali, communication is the priority and the major key to make any culture good in Health and Safety. You can follow all the rules and regulations, but if you do not communicate in the right manner, you are not doing good safety. Also, digital communication can help with collecting data as well as with the language barrier
