James shares how safety culture is the shared values, beliefs and attitudes that influence the commitment to, and engagement in, safe practices. James also talks about how a strong safety culture is vital to any organization as it can help prevent accidents, injuries and fatalities. He mentions the factors that contribute to a strong safety culture, including leadership commitment, employee involvement and effective communication. A key factor in creating a strong safety culture is leadership commitment. Systems play a vital role in setting the tone for the whole organization and setting the example for others to follow. In his past years of experience as a safety professional, James has learned that it's important to keep learning and to be trained to have safety culture and practices.
