How Safety Influences a Business With Michael Kandrack
On this episode Ted and Barb welcome Michael Kandrack. Michael is currently Head of bidding with Americas for Hitachi Rail in Pennsylvania. He is responsible for all bids delivered for Hitachi in North and South America. His previous experience include: Project director for large system projects and also Project manager for signaling projects across the country, which he did for several years.
Michael shares about safety in rail and signal industry. There are three positions that work together on quality and safety: one is taking care of quality, and two of safety. Safety is most important. But quality also improves safety. Safety and quality really go hand in hand. If you’re working in a safe manner, you’re more than likely working in a high-quality manner as well. When something happens on site, use it as a coaching moment so you do not make the same mistake again.
