OSHA Under Biden with Phillip Russell and Dee Anna Hays
On this episode Ted and Barb are welcoming certified OSHA
strategic Labor and Employment Lawyers for Businesses Phillip Russell and Dee
Anna Hays. Phillip and Dee Anna are “go-to” OSHA lawyers who have handled
hundreds of cases for construction, manufacturing, health care and other types
of employers. They are both with the International Labor and Employment Law
firm Ogletree Deakins. They are both Board Certified by the Florida Bar in
Labor and Employment. Phillip has personally handled over 100 fatality cases,
mostly in construction. Dee Anna has extensive experience in manufacturing and
health-care.
According to Phillip and Dee Anna, the most important thing
outside the legal issues is business issue. As a safety professional you must
understand the business. Understand how the business operates, how it’s funded,
and how will you, as a safety professional, impact the quality and success of
that job. Think about what the citation means to your business. When
interacting with OSHA, make an effort to build relationship, try to take every
opportunity to show OSHA that you and your company take safety seriously.
