Ergonomics in the Workplace
On this episode Ted and Barb talk to Melissa Samuels, a Vice President of Global Business Development at ErgoFactor. The topic of today’s show is ergonomics, which can be defined as a scientific discipline of designing or modifying a workplace to fit the worker. Melissa is an occupational therapist and has been working in the field of ergonomics and safety for approximately 17 years. According to Melissa, any business in any industry can benefit from ergonomics approach. Research results show that businesses that focus on ergonomics in the workplace tend to have 10-20% of total injuries related to ergonomics, while businesses that don’t put ergonomics into perspective fall into 30-50%.
